Four Positions Available:



Chief Scorer: Anyone who is proficient with computers is encouraged to apply and would hold the responsibility of operating the Speedway’s electronic timing and scoring system for each race night. This person would also be asked to manually score as a backup to the system. This person would be responsible for formulating all race results and lineups in a timely and accurate manner. Candidate not only needs to be proficient with computers, but must also be dependable, honest, hard working, dedicated and possess a strong desire for accuracy and consistency and be very detail oriented. This candidate must be willing to commit to the entire race season and be able and willing to work in a fast paced and pressured capacity.

Scorer: Two Scorers positions are available for the 2005 Season. People interested should have a strong desire to be accurate and detail oriented. The ideal candidate should be honest, dependable, hard working, dedicated and willing to work under high pressured, fast paced, stressful conditions.

Two Officiating Positions are also available for the 2005 Race Season:

Race Director: The Race Director’s primary responsibility is to implement and run the race program on event night in the Control Tower. The Race Director would be responsible for the release of cars on and off of the track, directing lineup of divisions, working with the Flagman to control the start of the event, as well as, caution, red and black flag incidents, and make calls to enforce on track activity and penalize accordingly. The Race Director will also have the responsibility of obtaining the lineup from the Scorers and passing it along to the competitors and/or Officials to get the cars/trucks lined back up to continue the race. The ideal candidate should have an intimate knowledge of racing, particularly that of short track racing. Having experience working at another race track in an officiating capacity is preferred. The candidate MUST possess the following qualities: loyal, dedicated, committed to excellence, hard working, dependable, reliable, honest, fair and must be able to commit to the entire race season.

Assistant Race Director: The Assistant Race Director will be in the Tower to aid the Race Director by being a “second set of eyes” and keeping a close watch on the on track activity to help the Race Director make calls. The Assistant Race Director will also have total control of the LES Fire & Safety Crew and will facilitate release of the crew during an accident or other problem on the race track that would warrant their assistance during the race program. The Assistant Race Director must posses all of the same qualities as the Race Director without the emphasis on prior work experience in the industry, however, experience is always a plus.
