Barre, VT - Milton, Vermont's Jean-Paul Cyr finished 11th in Sunday's 41st annual Milk Bowl at Thunder Road Speedbowl, Barre, VT which awarded him enough points to successfully defend his ACT Dodge Tour Championship - his second consecutive and fourth overall. Brent Dragon, also from Milton, VT finished 19 points in arreard (1499-1480) after 14 race events. Patrick Laperle completes the year in third (1466).

Like every one of the 51 competitors who rolled through Thunder Road's gates looking to earn a starting spot in the Milk Bowl Cyr had hoped to kiss the cow at the end of the day in addition to securing the title. "Today, of course, I wanted to come here and win the Milk Bowl and the Championship," he said. "That's what I dreamed about all week. That's what I set my goals on, but by the third segment we just went into survival mode and said we're going to win this championship and oh whell with the Milk Bowl." Cyr does have some consollation - he did win the 1996 Dodge Dealers Milk Bowl and got to kiss the cow then.

"What a relief! It's been a long year. Brent's (Dragon) been running strong, especially in the second half of the year and Patrick (Laperle) hasn't been much help either. They're both really tough competitors."

"I have to hand it to my crew - hat's off to them, " he continued. "They have been awesome and they made me look really good.

En route to the championship Cyr posted a pair of wins, the Merchants Bank Freedom Lynx 150 at Thunder Road and White Mountain Motorsports Park's Country Pools & Spas 100. He also took the Ehler's RV/Sticks & Stuff Chevrolet to eight top 5s and ten top 10s.

Completing the top five in the 2004 ACT Dodge Tour Championship chase were Todd Stone from Middlebury, VT (1387 points) and Joey Laquerre of East Montpelier, VT (1334)
